Digital marketers! Have you heard the news? People love mobile phones. Honestly, consumers can’t get enough of internet-enabled portable devices. You may have missed this memo but, even if you didn’t, you may not know all with the facts on where, when and how people are using their oh-so-smart devices.

Mobile phones are even used for shopping while people are in actual shops...

  1. 64% of American adults own a smartphone (Pew Research)
  2. More than 1 billion people worldwide will use a tablet in 2015 (eMarketer)
  3. Mobile phone messaging apps will be used by more than 1.4 billion consumers in 2015 (up 31.6% on the previous year) according to eMarketer
  4. 48% of the online shoppers in the UK buy stuff while in bed…
  5. 11% do so from the toilet…

  12. And a third of shoppers use their smartphones to find information instead of asking store employees. (Google). Apparently we now trust our phones more than the people employed by the company to help us.

  14. 43-47% of buyers in Criteo’s research used an additional device prior to purchasing on their mobile.
  15. Criteo’s report also finds that mobile commerce accounts for 35 percent of all ecommerce transactions, globally.
